About

Built for people who would rather be on the tools.

GoSmoko started because a plumber we know was spending most of Sunday turning a notebook into quotes. He was good at plumbing and losing work to people who were faster at paperwork. That is a software problem, not a work-ethic problem.

Why we built it

Trade software is either a spreadsheet or an ERP.

One end of the market is a shared spreadsheet that breaks the moment you hire someone. The other is enterprise field-service software with a six-week implementation and a consultant. Neither fits a crew of four in Hamilton.

So we built the middle: something you can set up in an evening, that handles the whole line from a voicemail to money in the bank, and that plugs into the accounting software your bookkeeper already insists on. No implementation project. No per-module pricing. No training course.

What we believe

Four rules we hold ourselves to

Fewer screens, not more features

Every field we add is a field someone has to fill in with cold hands in a crawl space. If a screen does not earn its place, it does not ship.

The invoice must match the job

Most trade software loses money at the handoff between doing the work and billing for it. We treat that handoff as the product, not an afterthought.

Your data belongs to you

We push to your ledger, we do not hold your books hostage. Export what you like, disconnect what you like, leave when you like.

Built for GST, not adapted to it

NZ and AU tax handling is in the core, not a plugin. GST rates, tax invoices, and payment terms work the way your accountant expects.

Where we are

Honest about what is built and what is not.

Quoting, jobs, invoicing with card payments, scheduling, stock, reporting, and the smart inbox are all live. Connect Xero in one tap. Stripe takes a key you paste. Email is built in.

What is not built yet: calendar sync to your phone, automatic stock depletion, deposits taken against a quote, and CSV export. Each of those is listed as roadmap on the relevant feature or integration page rather than implied to exist. If something on this site reads as available, it is available.

Where we are based

New Plymouth, Taranaki

Built in Taranaki, for trade businesses across New Zealand and Australia. Support is answered by people who know what a tax invoice has to say and what a company file is — and who have stood in a roof space with no signal.

Come and try it.

Fourteen days free. If it does not save you a Sunday, tell us why — that feedback is how this gets better.
